Power Couples of History

While researching Forgotten Women of the Wars of the Roses, I discovered so many stories of women's courage, bravery and resilience, but also ways in which they worked with their husbands towards their combined political, financial and social survival. Then, while I was talking with my editor while she was going through the manuscript, we wondered about the many contributions couples have made to history. The more I started to visit the tomb effigies of powerful couples, I uncovered more and more about the ways they have shaped our world, as well as the time in which they lived. These stories are a collection of some of the lesser-known couples I've discovered, and some bonus information about those more well-known.
